I Designed A Mini Quilt and another Pumpkin

I love fall and since I didn't have a fall quilt to display,
I decided to design my own mini quilt.  I put this quilt
together last year and wanted to share it with you.  The
stitching on the yellow squash didn't turn out as intended,
so when I can find the right thread I'll hand stitch it.  Other
than that I'm happy with the end result.

Finished  10/2009
Measures  20" X 17.5"

The pumpkin on the right is a new mock-up design
I made last night, made from felt.  Can you tell
I'm having another love fest with pumpkins this year?

I have this infatuation with pumpkins, maybe it's the
seasonal color orange, it's such a happy color.

Have you seen the new "Sharpening Edge" rulers by Sullivan's?
Pat Sloan helped design this new set of rulers.  Check out her
demonstration here.   I picked this one up on sale recently on
a quilt shop hop.  It sharpens your ruler as you cut and it seems
to be helping my overly used dull blade.  Good Tip - Try
turning the blade over and use the other side to get some extra
life out of that blade.  Careful don't cut those fingers.

See those orange letters I cut out?  I'm working on another fall
quilt this one a UFO and I've been motivated to get it completed.
I'll be back to share the top with you soon.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Oooo LOVE your wallhanging Kim!! Your pumpkins are wonderful. Halloween is such a great time of year to finally use those oranges we rarely use in our quilts :0)

I love the quilt! Fall is my favorite season too and I haven't done a fall quilt or even a mini yet for me. You've inspired me to get busy on one. Thanks.

I could not even imagine designing a wall hanging! Yours is beautiful. I love pumpkins too but it's so hot here that I'm not in the fall mood quite yet.

Looking forward to seeing what is going on with your UFO!

Your little quilt is so cute. I love the colors of fall, just hate to think of winter coming. Is it made of wool or pieced? I like making small projects so I have a finished project in not such a long time!!

Cute pumpkin mini! How fun to put this out for the season. And your little pumpkins are adorable. I love how 3-dimensional they look. Great idea to extend the life of a rotary blade - I definitely need to try that.

I also love Fall the most, and your colors are perfect. The wall hanging is especially creative and lovely, I wouldn't re-do one stitch!

Kim, congratulations on a wonderful wallhanging design. I'm going to look for the sharpening rulers and thanks for the blade tip, will do that for sure.
