I'm in here somewhere and an Award

My roses

I haven't blogged for a couple of weeks because of our
RV trip.  I'm home, but I found myself trying to play
catch up and slow to get back into the swing of things.

Terri from Terri's Notebook gave me this sweet award back in January when I was on vacation.  I love her blog and enjoy reading about her quilting and every day life.   She makes a lot of beautiful items (including bags) and sells them in her etsy shop, so if you need any, check it out through her blog.  Terri has been here for me lending her support and encouraging words on my weekly blogging for quite some time.  Thank you Terri!

To accept this award, here are the rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award. Thank you, Terri!
2. Paste the award on your blog (see above)
3. Link the person who nominated you.
4. Tell 7 interesting things about yourself (see below)
5. Nominate 7 or 8 blogs (see below)
6. Post links to those 7 blogs (see below)

Here are 7 things about me.

1. I took an oil painting class at the age of 11 and won 3 honorable mentions on my paintings in a local art show.  No, I don't paint with oils any longer.  I do like to doodle and draw occasionally in a sketchbook.
2. I learned to sew barbie doll clothes at 8 yrs old.  I progressed to sewing clothes for myself when I was in high school.
3.  I'm a country girl at heart and now live in the big city.  I like all the amenities that it offers, but miss the country and wide open spaces.
4.  I love the outdoors and I used to ride a snowmobile with my hubby and friends on weekends.  We rode on long trips that required me to ride fast and hard to keep up with the men.   No, I don't miss the snow and cold a bit.
5.  My hubby and I took off work for four years and traveled in our Motorhome following the sun from Alaska to Mexico on the west coast.   When we ran out of travel money, we bought ourselves a business in  the sun.
6.  I am a starter and not a finisher, this explains why I have approx. 25 UFO's to finish up.  I get bored and move onto the next project.  I've been told this is very normal by my quilting friends.   I have vowed to finish one quilt for every two I start this year.  We'll see how that works out.
7.  I like to draw and often when I see applique quilt patterns by others, I tell myself I can do that.  If I had more time and less UFO's, I would enjoy making a few quilt patterns to sell.

I would like to share this award with faithful readers and friends.
1.  Chris  - Crispy Quilts
2.  Linda P. - Sew Many Joyous Things
3.  Carrie - A Passion for Appique
4.  Terri - I'm Quilternity
5.  Anna - Quiltmom's Journey
7. Diane - Life Scraps

8. Debbie - Wooden Sales

If you would like to share this award, you can copy and paste it to your blog.

Have a creative weekend and thanks for stopping by!!

I just love roses but they are all buried under 5 foot drifts of snow. Spring may come eventually...I hope LOL

Your rose is beautiful. Makes me long for spring.
Congratulations on the award. Thanks so much for the award. I am honored but I have such a hard time picking people to honor them I just don't do it on my blog. But thanks so much.
I learned to oil paint about the same age you did but I don't do it anymore either. Not my passion.

Awww...thank you for the award nomination, Kim! Also thank you for the touch of spring in your lovely roses. Definitely need that in south Jersey's blizzard right now. :)

Yay, Kim is back! I was thinking about you yesterday. I love learning more about you, and noticing those things we have in common. I used to sew barbie doll clothes too, and then moved up to clothes for myself. I love reading that you guys took off and bummed around the country. Sounds like a dream! Thanks for your kindness, btw.

What a nice award you received Kim....and it is well deserved. I really enjoy reading your blog...it's great....plus you're the one that got me started blogging. Hurray Kim!!!!! It was fun reading things about you. So many of them parallel my life. No wonder we clicked so well when we met. Thanks for putting my blog on your list. I guess I better get over there and do an update. This surgery has slowed me down some but I want to put some new things on there in case anyone from your blog visits. It will be fun to have some new visitors.
