Arachnophobia

The weather has cooled off drastically the past two weeks with
the monsoon season bringing summer thunderstorms.  Since
Arizona has an average of 320 sunny days, I never complain
about a little rain. It's refreshing after the extreme heat we
normally have this time of year.

Sunday we had a balmy 87 degrees and I enjoyed every minute
of it. My doggies liked it too.  I took them out for a little walk
and found a dead brown spider on my porch.   Eek! Creepy!!
I've never seen one before.

I didn't get a photo of it before it blew away in the wind, so
I found these two similar photo's.

Good thing it was dead and probably because dear hubby
sprayed for bugs recently.  The Arizona brown spider is similar
to the brown recluse and thankfully I didn't encounter a live one.

I had to laugh today as I saw a woman driving down the road
wearing the 'Ove' Gloves.  Yes, the steering wheel can be a
little hot to handle when the temperature rises to 105 degrees.

My week is dedicated to catching up on work, so there won't
be any sewing going on.  Such a sad pitiful story I know.  My
sewing machine is back in the shop anyway.  I'm certain she
needed a serious spa treatment.

I hope you are enjoying your summer and have a creative week.

Hi Kim, I'm glad to hear that your weather is cooling a bit for you because from what everyone has been saying how hot it has been! Enjoy it before the winter sets in - Hugs Nat

I am not a fan of spiders either, yuck! But I have to say that woman driving with the Ove Glove, just pure genius!

I have such a hard time looking at this post because I hate spiders too. I don't mind daddy-long-legs, but this one is nasty! Thank you for including a funny story about that lady wearing those gloves!

EEEEEEEEEEEK! I'm so glad you didn't meet a live one either! That is one scary looking spider.

I'll have to get out my Ove Glove and put it in the car - I think we're warmer than you today, with as much humidity as FL! And a black leather interior, blech. Nice in winter, but....

Hope work goes well for you, and that your machine gets a lovely spa treatment!

Hey, that is a pretty neat idea to wear the gloves in the hot car.

Yuck on the brown spider but love the ov glove! I would never have thought of them as driving gloves! Take care - I care!

Years ago I met our first friends from AZ (we were military) they told us that the steering wheel would be so hot you would see people wearing oven mitts. I guess this is just the updated version. Hee!
