I know I said I would post more photo's of Marty's
gorgeous quilts (trunk show), but I've been in my sewing
room sewing for the past few evenings.
Naturally I wanted to share what I've been making for
my dear sister inlaw Chris. She recently found out that her
breast cancer is back after 5 years. I'm really saddened by
this news, so I plan to send her a care package to help cheer
her up. Please keep her in your prayers.
First up is a book mark made with some scraps of Rounneries
fabric and ribbons. Notice how I left the salvage on? I love
how this turned out.
Next up are these adorable zippy wallet purses from a tutorial
by Noodlehead. I wanted to make her gathered clutch,
but I saw these cute little wallets and decided to try these first.
Notice how I couldn't just make one? I've been saving the
strawberry fabric for awhile now, for just the right project. The
dots were a recent find from a shop hop I went on last weekend.
I pulled out some ribbons I had on hand and was pleasantly
surprised to find the dot ribbon matched up perfectly.
I plan to send one to my sister in-law, one to my niece and
keep the one with the mistake (major slip on the topstitching)
for myself. By the way if you decide to use this pattern I would
make it larger than 5" wide. Two of the purses I made are 5.5"
wide, but I prefer a larger coin purse so I may even go 6" wide
next time.
Last but not least, I decided to make these quick and easy little
flower hair pins for my 3 little munchkins (great nieces).
Can't you just see these in a little girls hair? So sweet!
They would also be darling added to a little girls dress, t-shirt
or purse. You can find a tutorial here. Lettie is so clever and
has so many wonderful tutorials.
Thanks for your kind and supportive comments, I hope you'll
stop by again.

Kim, you have been in your sewing room creating lovely things for special people. That's where you were meant to be the past few evenings. The trunk show photos can wait. Sad news about your sister in law, Chris. I know your gifts will make her smile. The bookmark is lovely. Selvages are often very attractive! And those little purses are adorable. Also love the flower hair pins. My little 4 yr. old grand-daughter would like them. I'm off to check the links you provided. Thanks!
