Retreat Photo's

I was off to attend an annual quilting retreat last Thursday for four fun filled days with the best group of  quilters.  Our hostesses do a fantastic job organizing the retreat with meals, one dinner out at the Elephant bar,  snacks, classes, a block lotto, door prizes, show and tell and a guest speaker.  I'll give them a Gold Medal on this one.  Yes, I've been watching the Olympics too much.
I took a lot of photo's so I hope to share them in the next week.  I'll start with some quilts made by our guest speaker the award winning quilter, Terri Doyle from Gilbert, AZ.  Terri won a first place award on one of her quilts in Paducah and a second place in Houston.  She's won numerous awards in other shows, such as Road to California and here at the Arizona Quilt Show.  I'm in awe of her gorgeous quilting.  I hope it's okay to share photo's of her quilts here on my blog since I'm giving her credit.  I know her quilts are posted out on the web, so I hope it's not a problem.

Feathered Star Quilt made by Terri Doyle, Gilbert, AZ

Terri Doyle won an award on this quilt at the
Arizona Quilt show a few years ago.

I wasn't able to get a front view of this quilt.

Terri Doyles detail quilting on mask.

Another mask on Terri Doyle's quilt.

Detail of piano keys on Terri Doyle's quilt.

Another one of Terri Doyle's spectacular quilts.

You can see some block lotto blocks on the back wall.
The blocks are bright batiks on a Moda Marbles background.

I hope you enjoyed the show and tell.

Wow...Sounds like you had a great time at the retreat... Is there any possible way the Arizona retreat could be relocated to Northeast Kansas next year??

Oh, I did enjoy show and tell. I can see why Terri wins awards. I love the round quilt.

Great photos, I am excited that I am scheduled to go to Paducah this year, Yippie! It sounds like you had a lot of fun. I do see alot of the same posters here that are on my blog, it's a small world and it's nice to meet you! Steph
