On Friday, April 2nd, it was beautiful sunny day so we took
my sister who was visiting for a drive in the convertible
to Saguaro Lake.
( Hey guys, you forgot to let us out so we can run and play. )
After taking some photo's we headed for the Salt River.

My sister carrying Fred as we hiked a trail by the Salt River.
You can see the river to the right if you look close.
Fred and Murphy, my boy dogs were having so much
fun running on the trail, until they emerged
with prickly burrs in their feet.
We carried them for awhile until we could
get the burrs out of their feet.
An attempt that seemed pointless by
the time we got back to the car.
I put Fred down in the water to cool off.
He stood there and enjoyed the cool water as he
looked back at me.
In May it can be 105 degrees outside and the
river will be cool for swimming. People float on the
river in tubes and kayaks during spring and summer.
Sometimes we see wild horses along the river.
Oh wait, these aren't horses.

Back on the trail to dry off in the sun.

A cactus in bloom above the river.
We hiked along the river following these two kayakers
floating down stream. After our hike we drove to a
picnic area and ate a lunch we packed.
On Saturday we drove to Sedona, beautiful red rock country.
You can see more photo's and read about it here.
I'm always captivated by the scenery in Sedona.
I could live here and would enjoy waking up
every morning to the beautiful views.
These photo's don't begin to capture the beauty of the red rocks.

Wow, what a gorgeous trip! I love seeing all those cacti and the river. Amazing scenery. And I never knew your dogs' names, so I'm happy to see them in the photos too. They look so adorable in the water and on the trial. So nice to see parts of your visit with your sis.
What a lovely day you had with you sister!! I love Arizona and would love to live there but Bob would complain about how hot it is (I was a lizard in a previous life, I love the heat LOL).

What fun! The "boys" look like they had fun - except for the burrs, of course, lol!

Now that is a great way to sight see, the convertible.
The sky is so blue. What a neat place.
