Big Fat Bag

This pretty lace dyed Hoffman batik fabric I purchased

on a trip with my sister to  Lancaster, PA a few years ago.

+

This bag pattern I purchased at the quilt show in March.

+

 A paper grocery bag,

some rings,  interfacing and hair canvas.

What a bag with no pockets??

I'm a little purse -snickety

a girl needs pockets for a cell phone

and other necessities.

I customized it with an inside pocket and

added the front pocket with a

little splash of color and piping.

My new summer bag.

Close up view of haphazard stitching on fabric
holding rings.   The instructions say
to sew it like this honestly.

Close up view of the other side
ring and strap after it's attached to bag.

It's time to empty out my older purse.

I am contemplating making this bag in some modern

prints think bold florals, polka dots or paisley.

What do you think?

Have a creative day!!

Great bag! I think you should go with polka dots for the next one!

That's such a cool bag. I love the lacy fabric, I haven't seen it before just right for a summer bag. Enjoy using it - Hugs Nat

That is stunning! Glad you added pockets, there simply MUST be pockets. I think this would look good no matter what you made it in!

I love the style and the material. The pockets on the inside are great. I still use the one you made for me years ago.

I love the bag; the addition of the pockets and the piping is great! It's the perfect size, too. I can see it with a novel, some sunscreen, and sunglasses in it along with every other necessity. Just right for summer. :-)
